Türk Telekom, the leading telecommunications and convergence technologies company in Turkey, continues to demonstrate its success in investor relations with new awards. In the Third Turkish Investor Relations Awards organized by Acclaro and Thomson Reuters, Türk Telekom has received first prizes in categories of Best Investor Relations Officer, Best Investor Relations Website, Best Investor Relations Department, Best Boardroom Disclosure and Transparency, and a second prize in Best Communication of Financial Results. Türk Telekom stamped its name on the awards ceremony receiving 4 first prizes and 1 second prize out of a total of 8 categories, as well as Grand Prix Award, which reflects the overall winner of the awards programme.
Mr. Abdullah Kaya, TTNET CFO and Head of Investor Relations at Türk Telekom Group, has been awarded Best Investor Relations Officer for his outstanding efforts to develop relationships which create an enthusiastic and supportive body of shareholders who support the business in the long term.
"Türk Telekom Group attaches great priority to investor relations and gives maximum effort to enhance two way communication with current and potential investors. This achievement, therefore, carries much significance for us. I would like to express my gratitude to Türk Telekom Group management and employees, in particular to our Investor Relations Team." said Türk Telekom Group CEO Mr. Hakam Kanafani commenting on the awards.
Charles Ross, Managing Director of Acclaro and founder of Turkey's Annual Investor Relations Awards, said: "These awards have built on their successful launch in 2009, with many Turkish companies committing considerable time and resources over the last 12 months to improve their investor relations offerings. We found dramatic levels of improvement particularly from this year's leader Türk Telekom, who has shown that a company who has only recently been listed, can still build a world‐class investor relations offering with the right amount of dedication from both senior management and the investor relations department. These awards have shown that Turkish companies are able to achieve world class standards when allowed sufficient resources and senior management commitment."
The Evaluation Process of the IR Awards is an objective methodology developed by Acclaro to recognize excellence in Investor Relations. An initial Polling by Thomson Reuters collects the votes for candidates. The Selection Panel receives a shortlist generated by the Poll along with Acclaro Research to support decision making in specific categories. This ensures that winners of Turkish Investor Relations Awards are decided by a well informed, impartial and objective process.
